About Us

The church was launched in 1918 as Iglesia Evangelica Mexicana Presbiteriana with less than 30 members. It started as a church planting base for outreach to Hispanic families in farming communities around Waco. After moving from our original building on 2nd Street to S. 3rd St., the church moved to Dutton Ave. 1986, and became known as El Calvario Presbyterian Church. Over the years, ECPC has shared the love of Jesus Christ in a number of ways, coming alongside immigrants and seeking to minister wholistically to families. In February 2018, we lost the Dutton St. building as part of our denominational transition and became “the church on the move.” Our mission to make disciples of all nations and love our community with the love of Christ remains the same.

ECPC is part of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. “Evangelical” means that in all we do, we try to share the good news of Jesus Christ and the relationship He offers us through His grace. Our sermons focus on equipping worshippers to understand and apply Scripture to their lives.
